Lyon
Example
Lyon was built at the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône — the Presqu’île sits between the two. The traboules of Vieux Lyon and Croix-Rousse lead from one street to the next through building courtyards. On the slopes, the high-ceilinged houses of the canuts, the silk weavers, date from the nineteenth century. The quays of both rivers can be walked end to end.
